Cookery CourseThe purpose of our Cookery courses is to provide your domestic assistant with basic cookery skills where we encourage versatility and initiative when preparing food. We further attempt to instill hygienic habits in the kitchen while developing enthusiasm for cooking. Our cookery courses are very much practical courses, where each delegate is personally involved in the preparation of the dishes taught. We have divided our cookery classes into two courses of five weeks each: Cookery Part 1 and Cookery Part 2 (Family Feasts & Menu Planning). The second course covers in-depth menu planning and includes which foods to serve together, how to organise a menu for the week, how to check the pantry for the necessary ingredients for the coming week's menu and how to compile a shopping list for the week. The courses may be done in any order. We now offer a third, short, 3-week course during the winter months where we cover winter soups, starters and some bread making. |
